My new macbook keeps turning off when low on power, not standby. Aple have agreed o exchange it for a new machine. The question I have is I have put my new 320GB HDD into teh machine and restored all my data.

Can I simply when I get my new machine, swap the drives and it will work. I know I tried this a few years ago on a windows laptop and it crashed.

Thanks for any help.

It should be fine. You could always make a full Time machine backup before you do it.

If they are the same type, there should be no issues (I did it with a 100GB drive between a TiBook 500 and a TiBook 667). There would only be an issue if going between chipsets or processor types (G4->G5->Core->Core2).

Apple are swapping the black book for another black book which is getting sent out to me next week. Thanks for the help. Both SR 2.2 standard spec.
