The SSD most likely uses SATA to connect the hard drive to a device, the link you sent us looks like it is for an IDE drive.

If you search for "sata 2.5 enclosure" on amazon you should find what you want.

I think you would lose a respectable amount of the performance of an SSD by connecting it via firewire/usb, but that is a topic better suited for someone else to discuss as I haven't used an SSD external of a computer. (Also I haven't tried booting a macbook off an external hard drive, PCs oh yeah but not Macs, another reason to let someone else answer.)
