So I've held off on updating to High Sierra due due to all the negative reviews and issues I've read about. I decided today to do the install with 10.13.1 on a 2017 27" iMac, i7, 24GB RAM and a 512 SSD.
I'm happy to say I've been running it for a few hours now with zero issues. Basic rundown:
- Downloaded from the App Store and saved locally
- Rebooted system for good measure
- Ran installer. Install time was exactly 36 minutes
- Finalized install on reboot
- Verified apps, backups and other odds and ends
Overall? Happy I did the update. Whole system is "snappier", yeah, even Safari, and I have zero complaints so far. I haven't timed a reboot per say, but honestly, it's as fast, if not faster than previously.
I'll report back if I see any issues over the next couple of days, but at this point, things look pretty darn good!
