I get this in a box on my desktop, it is a recent development. In the box, with the red octagonal shape with an exclamation point it says:

IP Configuration
192.168.2.101 in use by 00:23:32:58:d5:ea DHCP Server 192.168.2.1

This happens when I close something. I noticed it when I closed Firefox today. What is this?
Can anyone help?
It does not always happen.

It depends on how long your router is set to lease out an IP address. If you are assigned an IP from the router, then put the machine to sleep, the lease may expire while it is asleep. When you wake the machine, it will try to use the existing IP and may notice that it has been assigned to another user. You can release the IP.

This is only a possibility based on what you have provided.

I do have flashblock turned on in Firefox

Thank you for the quick responses. Regarding the second response; it sounds to me that this is not a security risk. Is this true?
