From what I've seen of the Sapphire and Ion-X screens (form factor wise) they are identical. Do you think it would be possible to replace the Ion-X screen (if/when scratched or cracked) with a Sapphire screen?

From what I've seen of the Sapphire and Ion-X screens (form factor wise) they are identical. Do you think it would be possible to replace the Ion-X screen (if/when scratched or cracked) with a Sapphire screen?
Possible? I'd say absolutely. Will Apple do it? No chance.
What if you got a second hand technician to do it? Or, could you talk to Apple about possibly paying extra for the sapphire, say, the price of a sapphire replacement out of warranty?
