Can you use Twitter or Instagram apps on the watch when you are connected to wi-fi but without having the phone?

Thanks in advice

A better way to ask a question is to actually have some information in your title.

As for "without the phone" - what do you mean?

You must have a phone and it must be on the same wifi as the watch.

Nope, not yet at least.

All third party apps run their code on the phone right now, so without it the watch has no idea what to do. I think apps like the built in mail/imessage would still work though I haven't tried it.

Sorry about the title issues.

With "without the phone" I mean if I can use those apps in the office even if I forget the phone at home or it runs out of battery, for example.

I don't think the mail and stuff does either. The step/fitness tracking works, but no route (GPS) information.

Nope - phone needs to be on the same system, so home wifi while you are at home, work wifi at work, or within bluetooth range with no wifi around.

Nope. Just another reason I got rid of mine, its useless without the iPhone. If its supposed to eliminate the need to have to use your phone but you still need to carry your phone with you everywhere you go....yeah, stupid and pointless.

The phone is still needed, period, for most applications.

But it means you can leave it in your briefcase or handbag.

'Tisn't pointless, but it's early on in its development. If you want/need the other stuff before considering it worthwhile, wait a year or two for us initial owners to be the guinea pigs and for batteries and processors to develop more.
