First, I have to explain that like my handle, I'm an "Old Timer" closing in on 80 years on the green side of this earth. I'm not in the best of health, but I'm not complaining because of the alternative... especially in these times of the Covid-19 Pandemic here in the USA and especially here in the Northeast where so many have suffered.

A couple weeks ago, I posted a thread (in my previous identity LOL) that I was frustrated with my iMac and Catalina and wanted to go back to Mojave, the OS my mac came with. I also had a feeling that somehow, someone had infected my mac... I was getting strange emails from people I didn't know, and in strange fonts. All the more reason to reformat, erase, and start over. I couldn't just bring my mac back to the Apple Store bc the mall was closed. And since its 14 months old, it was out of warranty.

A young college student named Casperes1996 here jumped in and started offering some technical advice, and eventually offered to communicate via private messages to help me get my mac back on track. "Casper" hung with me for well over a week to lay out the options of wiping and reinstalling a new OS, in a fashion an ancient like myself could (eventually) understand. As of yesterday, my iMac is now running a clean install of Mojave and hopefully my fears of that machine being compromised are in the rear view mirror!

In this day and age, I think it's just wonderful that a young college student has the patience and fortitude to deal with a near-octogenarian LOL and I just wanted to express my gratitude and delight with the situation. Many people would have simply ignored my dilemma and ignorance, but Casper went above and beyond in helping me. I don't know how many members of this forum are as ancient as me... but it's certainly refreshing to know there's some great young people in this crowd who are generous with their time and knowledge.

Thanks Casper!
