A strange feature/glitch on the iPhone 5?

While on the lock screen, if I press the power button immediately followed by the home button (not simultaneously as that takes a screenshot) the screen flashes black then comes back completely dimmed, and remains dimmed until I either re-lock it or touch the brightness control. The brightness slider remains on whatever the brightness usually is though, which suggests it's just a glitch.

I get this all the time. It's very annoying!

I get it all the time too. Better than all the various glitches you get with androids and all the other phones out there.
