I like the health diagnostic features of the Apple Watch but have no use for
listening to music via my watch, or answering calls, or reading emails and
texts on it. And I certainly don't need the time as my iPhone has that covered.

So is there a health monitoring band I can check out...apart from the usual suspects like
Fitbit etc...something I may be unaware of?

well, it might help if you would describe what is is you're looking for, "health" monitoring doesn't mean much. You might also get some feedback if you would google for it and then ask for inout on specific devices ... and I don't need to tell you that AW does much more than what you are outlining ...

looking for the usual health markers....heart rate, pulse, oximeter, cals burnt, activity monitor, sleep analysis, etc etc
not interested in time, sms, email management, music etc
tried searching but all the fitness trackers are in the watch format...is there a pure fitness tracker that offers no other frills?

I don't understand why you wouldn't just not use the things you don't want. Are you trying to save money? Because all the really good ones (garmin) tend to also do the things the Apple Watch does and cost about the same (around $400).

I think you might be interested in Oura or Whoop. They are more focused on health/fitness.

Pick up a cheap Apple Watch, create a fitness/health focused watch face, and turn off notifications not related to fitness/health. I have a Watch configured this way and it's great.

Thank you...the whoop gadget seems to mirror what I was thinking of, although I am hoping there are decent basic features that don't require a subscription! $30 a month is not my thing. I will investigate further.
