I have recently bought a digital video recorder (Sharp TU-R160H). I want to transfer MPEG-2 files from the recorder to my Mac so that I can burn DVD's but I don't know how to physically connect them. There are two video outputs on the recorder "Optical SPDIF" and "CVBS" but no cable/ instructions for computer transfer are provided. Is it possible to connect the recorder to my Mac? I have a 15" G4 Powerbook that does not have optical connection.

Thanks

I don't think there is a way of accessing the hard drive externally. Certainly on the one I have, made by Humax, it is not possible.
