All efforts apple has been doing: truetone, Night Shift and Dark mode, are meant to reduce eye draining by reducing blue lights (alone with other purposes).

And I use a LG TV for my daily monitor. I set night shift to very high, and adjusted TV's settings to a very warm color temp, use truetone when using mac's display alone. And of course the dark mode.

Before all this, looking at the monitor all day long made me unable to sleep. After these tweaks I feel sleepy all the time even at daylight.

Anyone feel the same?

It’s as nature intended

White/blue light during the day keeps melatonin at bay (think color caffeine). Sun goes down and all you have is candles, melatonin releases and you get naturally sleepy.

Introducing artificial lighting a few generations ago and then led lighting this century, through that out of balance. Now we can stay up past midnight without batting an eye.

Warm shift software is an attempt to restore that lost balance. Accompany it with warm lighting everywhere else in your life for the full effect of sleeping like your ancestors.
