A way to hold a keyboard key?

I'm looking for a solution to keep a key from the keyboard "pressed", without the need of using my fingers.
Is there a way to do it?

Which key? (might be important)
Why? (just curious)
What keyboard, or Mac do you have?
What is your OS version?
(always provide those last two at the start - just a "best practice" recommendation)
Have you searched elsewhere for solutions? If so, what have you tried that has failed?
