Hi,
I wanted to know if its really worth it to put an SSD on my late model 2006 imac and/or compatible I've read in some places that SSD's are only SATA II compatible and some say its backwards compatible but you wont get full capacity because of the controller chip.

SATA II and III are backwards compatible, you're just limited to 1.5Gb/s (SATA I's maximum). While it will limit the maximum read/write speeds, you still get the super low latency i.e. fast response times
