a1181 optibay?

i recently bought some off brand 2nd HDD caddys from ebay, and i cannot get them to show up on any of the 3 computers ive tried them on. am i doing something wrong or does the a1181 simply not support these? any help appreciated, thanks.

ps the drive is not even read in disk utility, just no recognition that there is a 2nd HDD added at all.

If Disk Utility isn't even seeing the drives, reads like you received some paperweights unless there's an issue with how you're connecting them to your machine, ie bad enclosure, cables, etc.
