A1278 MBP and 8GB of RAM

Hey all!

I'm trying to determine if I can support 8GB of RAM in my MBP. Mine is an A1278 with the 2.0Ghz cpu. My serial number decodes to a production date of November 2008. I've read some of the threads on memory support (including http://bit.ly/YCUCS), but I'm still left without a clear answer.

Does anyone with a matching 13" MBP out there run 8GB? I'm upgrading memory, and the price difference between 4, 6 and 8GB is pretty minimal.

Thanks!

From EveryMac.com

"Standard RAM: 2 GB Maximum RAM: 6 GB*
Details: 2 GB of RAM is installed as two 1 GB modules, no slots free.

*Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module."

So, If I were you, I'd go for 6GB.
