1. Anyone notice how they did not use any relative percentages to quantify the A13's CPU and GPU performance delta vs. the A12 and other competing SoCs? I found that to be very strange, and sly.

2. Usually, Apple is first to show off generational improvements in performance, but not this time. Only numbers were around transistor counts, process nodes and execution units, which hardly matter to end users.

3. I guess they've really run out of things to talk about/focus on, which is why yesterday's keynote felt like incessant, unabashed and hyperbolic marketing. There was certainly no innovation to be seen, at least in my view.

4. Back in the day, Apple barely focused on raw specs and numbers, and instead, the entire focus was on introducing new features and meaningfully iterating on the prior generation hardware/software, to ultimately create a more seamless and enjoyable user experience.

5. On the software front, nothing since iOS 6 has been a step forward in terms of user experience or ease of use.

6. On the hardware front, the iPhone's design has languished since the iPhone 6, feature adoption has been slow vs. competition. (multiple cameras, fast/wireless charging, etc.)

7. What's so Pro about the new iPhone? (no reverse wireless charging, high refresh rate display, no USB-C, no pencil support, no in-display fingerprint support, no 5G - it's got nothing).

8. Now, loyalists may argue that Apple always takes its time to perfect technologies, before releasing them, but that's a load of baloney. In fact, we've lost useful accessories from the box, we've lost features such as TouchID (albeit FaceID is great) and we've lost the headphone jack. Yet, starting capacities are only 64GB and prices continue to skyrocket.

9. Remember, as always, these are just my $0.02 - please feel free to commence the bashing.

all of what they say on stage is carefully planned beforehand. anything they don't mention, they don't mention on purpose because they know it's bad. for example, they didn't talk about the weight, even though they used to brag about how light their phones were years back. they didn't talk about storage because they know they're scamming people, asking them for $350 for a $60 ssd upgrade that costs them $0 to add to the phone. they didn't talk about performance because there is a 0% difference compared to the a12 in all tasks except maybe editing 4k 60fps videos.
