I got this with an iMac and the A key was missing so I got one off eBay and after fitting it was not working. Looking at where original key was removed (and comparing to the S key I took off) I wonder if some electrical contact is faulty.

Anyone experienced in repairs able to give some advice? Maybe there is some sort of silver conductive paint repair I can do? Dome is removed for the A key so you can see better but is obviously fitted when key attached.

Very similar problem with a wired apple extended keyboard which the latest OS doesn't recognise as apple anymore and the right shift key stopped working along with the up arrow and the rubber button is loose in the shift key after removing to clean. Weirdest thing is that some days both keys work again?

I must be dumb but WHY did you post here? Did you have some help to offer or did you not realise you could make your own thread? Your problem is not related at all (its not even a wireless KB)! :(

The keys are the same mechanism. I was posting more in sympathy and interest in the same topic, sorry I upset you
