I have a decent (not horrible, not extravagant) Clarion stereo in my Civic. It has an aux in on the front, which sounds fine. Before I had my 3GS, I'd just toss my mp3 player on the passenger (seat or person!) and not care about the appearance of the wire.

With the iPhone, I have it on a Nav-Mat on the dash, and the wire sticking out of the top is almost distractingly ugly. I'm considering getting a new stereo with built-in A2DP.

I'm wondering, is the quality of the A2DP the same as an aux jack? By that I mean frequency response, noise, etc. Certainly the aux-in in a noisy car playing compressed music is nothing to rave about, but I wouldn't want any less than I have now.

Thanks!
