I read the post earlier that details the new processor to be dual core, therefore debunking rumors of it being quad core. So out of curiosity, if the A5x were a 2ghz dual core, theoretically how much more or less efficient and powerful would it be compared to a 1ghz quad core?

The real issue is the apps, if developers write apps which take advantage of more speed and or memory then it's an issue if they stay with efficiency then you will not notice a big bump in speed.

What I have observed in the decades I have owned PCs and such is the programs/apps tend to bloat as the speed and memory availability grows. what this means is the efficiency proportionally drops as the machines become more powerful.

Now in observable terms, who'd a thought in my C64 days I would be holding an iPad in my hand reading a book in one minute and watching a full length movie the next. I love these devices. (The debate then was VHS verses Beta Max)
