As soon as Apple announces speed bumps to the PowerMacs I will be spending $$ on a new computer. I currently have a PBG4 and a seven year old 8600 (which while slow, has been a very reliable old beast).
My question: I have been capturing analog audio (old LPs & tapes) using the 8600. I use Adobe Premiere, then clean it up using CD SpinDoctor, then burn CDs using Toast.
When I pull the new G5 out of the box (oh happy day), what software will I be able to use immediately to capture audio. I know the G5 has an analog in -- but iMovie won't capture analog audio, right?
I've thought of two possible solutions: I have a ADVC-100 (can I use this with iMovie or GarageBand?); the other solution is simply buy a copy of Final Cut Express right away -- I assume I can capture with that, right?
Or am I missing something?
