This has gotten so friggin' annoying that I have to write about it.

Why oh why does every single iOS 8 update delete all of my music stored on my iPhone 6???!!!! Only iTunes purchases are showing after an install/reboot. Go figure - not plugging iTunes are we??!!

Anyone else has this ridicilous problem?

Many thanks all.

I had this with the move from 8.0.2 to 8.1, but thankfully not with 8.1 to 8.1.2.

Even worse is that it - at least in my case - didn't delete the music but just "unlinked" it, resulting in 24 GB of wasted space until I did a Reset All Content and Settings.

Just discovered 8.1.1 did the usual munging of my playlists (merging them, deleting random tracks, etc.) And since iTunes' handljng of playlists sucks, I have to wipe all the music off my phone and reinstall it all. For goodness' sake. This has been going on since at least iOS 6, hasn't it?
