No doubt the agreements to have Best Buy and WalMart carry their products has contributed here. As of this moment, stock trading at $76.95, up $2.97 for the day.

Exactly! I looked at a 5 year chart and it was quite impressive, though it doesn't quite negate the huge valley.

As far as I can tell, the 2000 (golden iMac years) highest close was:

22-Mar-00: Closed at 144.19. Close adjusted for dividends and splits: 72.10

So we've been sailing around and over that historical high bar for the past 5 business day.

The last 2:1 split was on June 21, 2000 when the stock was hovering just above $100.

Congratulation Apple for all the good work.

Times are certainly good cos I was just reading the article in Forbes saying that Apple software is their second biggest growth segment behind the iPod.

And I thought it would peak for the year at $72.

I could swear that I'd seen the stock at over $150 before the split, which is just below where it is now.

Hopefully, they'll continue but I think a correction and/or a sell-off will be coming shortly.

You're right, it did go near that price but it went down before the split.
