Historically, what is the usual market reaction to Quarterly earning reports?? If AAPL has a good quarter, would you expect the stock to raise? lower? stay about the same?

I know this is like asking to predict when Mt. St. Helens is going to blow, but anyone out there know what has happened in the past? Apple will announce it's earnings next Wednesday, and anaylists are expecting a good report. How will AAPL's valuation change?

Full Disclosure: I know extrememly little about the stock market. I'm just looking for any insight at all. . .
