Ability to sync iPhoto Albums as well as folders elsewhere?

I have an iPhone running the latest IOS and iTunes.

For syncronising photos, I have a folder on my hard drive with several folders inside that in which I can choose which of these folders of pictures are uploaded to my phone.

This works well, however, I also would like the ability to, aswell as these folders, load several specific 'events' from iPhoto to my phone.

As far as I can see, this cannot be done? I have to choose my folder on my Hard drive OR iPhoto within iTunes photos tab?

Is this a common request or not?
