Ableconn eSATA Port Multiplier PCIe card PEX-SA134

I have an Ableconn eSATA Port Multiplier PCIe card PEX-SA134 that worked well on a 2010 Mac Pro in Big Sur. I would like to plug it in to a new 2023 Mac Pro but see it is a legacy BIOS card made to work on an UEFI intel system. Will it work? Can I just try it and plug it in without damaging the system? (I have about 30 backup drives in several Firmtek 5M enclosures, I'd be pleased to continue to use without rehousing.)

The option rom on the PCIe card, whether legacy BIOS or Open Firmware or UEFI, doesn't get used on an Apple Silicon Mac.

The controller on the card probably supports standard AHCI. macOS should be able to use it without problem. Probably the Apple Silicon Mac can boot from AHCI?

It should not cause any damage if it doesn't work since it's just a PCIe card. PCIe cards should be able to connect to any PCIe slot without melting your computer.
