? about cancelling iPhone data plan

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows whether you can cancel the iPhone data plan. I have a 1st gen iphone with the $20 data plan and the contract has about 11 months left on it.

Also, if I cancel it, will I be able to access the Internet on wifi.

The reason I am considering this is that I was thinking about getting the new 3G iphone on another line and we won't need to have Internet access (non-wifi) on both of them.

You can't cancel it, but you would obviously be able to still use Wi-Fi alone.

But the OP said they have a first-gen.

Call 611 from your phone and speak to customer service. Also, if you cancel the data plan ask for a data block so you cannot accidentally use data on the cellular network.

Wifi will not be affected.
