About migration from mac to mac

I had a defected Mac Book.

I used Time machine to backup everything before returning.

Am I be able to migrate my applications and settings from previous to a new one?

should be able to, that is what i did a few days ago after upgrading from a 2007 MBP to the late 2008 unibody mbp....works good thusfar.

just turn on the new machine, make sure the Timemachine drive is plugged in and on, then once set up goes through, just selec tot back up form the time machine back up
