So I got the new EFI update that would remove the superdrive bootup sound.

I pressed the shutdown button and it shut down. Then I was supposed to press the power button (yey almost never gets the chance to do that on my macbook! :D ) and.......... nothing.

I think I read something about that the screen would be black for a while, but for how long? It's been like 15 min and I don't even hear the fans. I don't wanna destroy my laptop by pressing the power button again.

Am I just being silly?

edit

yeah I'm an idiot, didn't press the button long enough. Still the drive start up sound is still there.

edit 2

I'm an even bigger idiot, there is another update... jesus.

It doesn't remove the startup sound, just the sound when it wakes from sleep. At least that's how it is on my mbp and mini..
