It should work fine. Any reason why you're specifically purchasing this dell hard drive and not a seagate, toshiba, or WD drive. There is not much detail on the drive, no rpm or cache buffer listed. Nor does it provide any info on which serial interfaces it supports.
Because the store is near me, the drive is cheap and I can get this done over the weekend so that my old MacBook can be gifted to my mother-in-law in time for her birthday next week.
But yeah, this is going into a machine I only use for music production. In the old days you needed expensive, fast, crazy drives for audio. Now, maybe not so much. It's not like I'm a professional ProTools studio for hire. I'm a hobbiest making techno after my day job.
Still, what would you recommend as far as rpm, cache buffer and other specs? I really appreciate your reply.
