I'm dumping my 2011 MacBook Pro and grabbing a 13" MBA tomorrow. My plan (I think) is to use at least one external monitor when at my desk. Is there any reason this won't work?

Thanks!

It cannot easily handle more than one external monitor - it's possible, but it's pricey to setup and requires additional accessories that might make it unwieldy.

I have an HD external on my 13" Air and it handles it like a champ; no stuttering, no problems.

For the money your going to spend on the MBA did you look at the 13" MBP Retina? And look at the refurbished systems you can get some really good savings. Suggestion always do your own research ,ask questions Yes, but double checking is a very good idea.

Also 2 monitors ? Look here

Plenty of monitor options out there.
I picked up a used 24" Cinema Display (older version - see link below) for about USD 200 which doubles as a docking station, as it also has power connection for your Macbook, USB hub etc. and a built in FaceTime camera. Perfect solution for me.
