I'm about to order a new 17" 1.5 Ghz Powerbook. I'm know it's the older generation, but it's $450 less than a new 1.67 Powerbook.

My main question is will the slower internal drive give me problems? I'll use it 95% of the time as the "office" computer in my studio. (internet, word proc., printing cd labels, etc) My main studio computer is a G5. I may occationally take it out to record, but I'll be using an external firewire 800 drive for the audio.

So with the internal drive just running the OS and the app, will it be ok.

With the $450 savings, I can max out the RAM. And like I said 95% of the time it will be doing non-intensive office stuff.

Is the saving worth it??

Thanks for your input.

I need the 17" for working on music scores. It's frustrating on a 15" to constantly have to scroll up and down to see the full score page.
