Apple will replace it if it's a hardware issue, not a software issue. If they take it back and find that there is no physical reason why the stereo is not working they will just keep the iPhone and screw me.

They will give the phone back if they find nothing wrong with it. If the speaker doesn't work then it should be pretty obvious there is something wrong with it and you can easily demonstrate this to them.

How can they keep your phone?

I don't get it. It's simple....take it back and get it fixed or replaced. If the speaker doesn't work there is a problem somewhere. Stop searching the boards for a solution and take it to the source.

I can't believe you stayed up all night stressing about a phone. Follow the advice of the other posters and take it to a genius bar. You'll probably walk out with a brand new phone.

Make sure you restore your phone before you take it in--if they see its jailbroken they will void the warranty.

iPhone exchanges have gotten rather easy. I got mine replaced for a bad screen. The whole thing took maybe 5 minutes at the genius bar. I have to bring it back in as this screen is dying as well.

I would have not stressed the audio out problem all night. The phone (95%) of it's functions were still working.

It's at this point where most people will stop being helpful and start being suspicious...why would Apple keep your phone?
