Hello to everybody. So I own an iMac from the years 2017. Just earlier, I transferred a file of 163 megabytes from a folder in my iMac onto a usb. It took several minutes to do this; about 3 or 4 minutes.
What I don't understand is that after when I put my usb in my MacBook Pro, which isn't as advanced and strong as my iMac is, I transferred the file from the usb onto the Mac book pro, and it took seconds to do so. I don't understand this. Is something wrong with my iMac, is it slow when it shouldn't be? I did a scan on Malwarebytes and it turned out clean. Pls advise. Many thanks.

Test the USB drive on every computer you have, both reading and writing. What are the results?
Hi I did the same thing on my MacBook Pro and it said it would also take 3-4 minutes, like my iMac, I cancelled the transfer because I saw how long it would take.
Is something wrong with my iMac though? Is this normal, that it would take this long?
Also, is there a way to test the strength of the iMac? many thanks.
