Just out of curiosity, I'm going to Amsterdam this weekend and will be turning Data Roaming off on my iPhone, will find my iPhone still work? If not, i'm surprised that its not the only exception. I doubt anyone would care about data roaming charges to find their lost phone...

No, it requires a data connection to locate the device. Same thing happens when you turn a wifi iPad or iPod off. Find my iPhone is unable to locate it. Just get a prepaid SIM card while you're in Amsterdam. I'm in Iceland right now, been here for a week. When I landed, my Verizon iPhone 5 picked up Vodafone and began roaming, obviously. I turned data roaming off until I was able to grab a prepaid SIM card from Síminn. I was able to buy 5gb of data for $17, and the price of the sim card came with about $15 worth of phone call/SMS credits. Definitely can't beat that vs roaming fees.

Cool, cheers for that. Good job I got my phone unlocked a few weeks ago. Think ill be getting a prepaid sim once I land then.
