I'm looking at possibly upgrading my Rev A Macbook to a new Unibody MBP.

I see that refurbs are $1699. But, after tax, that makes them closer to 1800.

I've seen some get sold on eBay new for right around $1600. Are those legit? They seem to be as they have good sellers.

I've scoured Craigslist, but have not seen much.

What would you guys recommend? I'd rather not spend much more than $1600. Is that do-able?

If new MBPs come out in the next few months, what do you guys think the current MBPs will fall to on the refurb store?

Thanks!

I would not buy off Craigslist because you just don't know who you're gonna meet or how many guys. You don't want to risk your life over $2k.

I got my MBP 2.5ghz (MB471LL/A) new off eBay for $1899 shipped. See my post and picture. I feel that eBay is the BEST as long as you know how to play. I bought ALL my Macs there. :D

I just got mine from this seller today. Brand new 2.5ghz MB471LL/A for only $1899 shipped and PERFECT! The lowest price sold for a 2.4ghz from this seller was $1599 shipped.

Could you possibly link me to the seller's eBay page?

And thanks for all the other suggestions, guys.

I've considered the ADC store... but I still have two years at my University, and might end up using that discount on a Mac Pro...
