I know this isn't technically specific to this forum, but I always get good answers here. ;)

I'm trying to make it so that windows will never let any user except admin to change their desktop. I've tried both registry editor and actual control panel utilities to no avail.

In the LOCAL USER -> Desktop list (not exact path btw), I attempted to change all wallpaper values to C:/Windows/Web/bg.jpg

This gave me a weird result. After logging off as admin, I logged back into the college domain that I can connect to (and need to).
My new desktop did not appear. Instead it was just what I think is the default windows background color, a light blue.

I right clicked the desktop and attempted to see what the setting were. To my surprise, the mini preview window was showing my background that I wanted!!! Confused, I tried modifying the marguee timeout by one minute then back down a minute, then "applying" the display settings. This worked and my background was changed.

When I went into reg edit to check that settings, the "Wallpaper" and "Original Wallpaper" said /documents/local/alex.wait/blah blah. "Converted Wallpaper" said the path I had typed in before, the C:\Windows\Web one.

How do I make windows use a certain path for my desktop, no matter who in the world logs on?

I hope I've provided sufficient information. ;) lol

On second thought maybe there's some tutorial for a script I could write that would change the desktop on startup?
