This computer is long in the tooth but I need it to last out the year. Apple store topanga quoted me a price of $129.99 for an AC adapter. Anyone know where I can get an AC adapter for my computer? The part number is A1021

Does it actually have to be an Apple branded power supply?

You can find third party power supplies on Amazon. I've paid as little as $9.99. I've got one right now that I bought through Amazon (from Mac-Pro) for about $30. Two years later and it's still working.

So, i went back to Mac-Pro when I needed another one. $33 including shipping. Their site is here: www.mac-pro.com.

If you don't like Amazon, do a Google search. Lots of third party retailers out there selling aftermarket adapters. Just make sure to get a 65W power supply. 45W is not enough.

if you have gone to Apple store at topanga mall you should have stop by at Frys store not far from there they are selling apple brand power supply or 3rd party for cheap...I trust Frys than Apple store.

If you dont know where it is on Canoga blvd near Victory blvd

Nope. Went to Frys. They had 1 open box that was missing parts.

Try Burbank store near Bob Hope Airport (Burbank Airport)...there are 4 Fry's stores here in the Greater Los Angeles area..

I am using the Macally power adapter. Works well though it is made to really work with iBooks but you can use it with Powerbooks.

this...it is better than Apple brand power supply.
