I am trying to extract voices from a soundtrack. I have heard that one method of doing this is to convert an AC3 file into 6 wavs and use only the central channels.

Although I have found software for a PC to make this conversion, I have not found any software on a Mac.

Any ideas of suitable software would be greatly appreciated!

I just tried transcoding a matching pair of m2v and ac3 files into ProRes using Compressor (I had made the files myself from a ProRes timeline). The m2v file worked fine, but the ac3 file did not work. I got the the message, "Failed - 3x Can't transcode to QuickTime, source has no video or audio". True, the ac3 file had no video, but the m2v file had no audio and worked just fine. What am I don't wrong, or what's the work around?
