will there be a difference between the regular version of tiger vs. the academic one? when you buy an academic product, is your school notified or anything like that?
 
they are both the same apart from the price! nice for students then! apple doesnt contact your school or anything!

i heard they do random checks, just in case you might wanna be prepared.
 
I had to buy tiger of my university's network, and it was fine. In fact I bought my Mac Mini and iWork as well a month or so back and its went through fine.
