Does using this app http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21545 which allocates cpu cycles to foreground app give me better performance in SETI/FOLDING?

If you noticed the comments on VersionTracker, it didn't look like the sort of thing you'd want to have on your machine at all. 
If you have the console version of folding@home, there is an option to change its priority. You can also change the priority using a shell in Terminal.
