.... and this seems independent of whether I'm running 4.3.3 jailbroken or on a cleanly installed IOS5 (no JB). Note I bought this iPod touch (3G) used and then immediately jailbroke it about a year ago. Mostly worked fine until the accelerometer started having these intermittent issues about 3 months ago.
I would tend to think this is a hardware issue except that reboots seem to (temporarily) fix it. Currently running IOS5 (again, no JB).
Questions:
Even though I did a complete "restore as new iPod" to IOS5, is it possible my previous jailbreak(s) left a file or files somewhere on my iPod that is causing the intermittent accelerometer issues?
Is there a way to investigate / assess for this?
Any other suggestions people might have? Like I said, the issue (temporarily) resolves 90% of the time when I reboot. "Restore as new iPod" doesn't seem to resolve the issue. Any advice would be very appreciated.
