Accepting credit card payments

Someone in a thread, on another forum, raised a brilliant point about using Square Up, for payments (Magstripe Reader).
With the lack of a headphone jack, what is going to be the best option for accepting credit card payments?

Using the dongle, might not be a good long term solution. And, using the camera, to scan the card; well, I certainly wouldn't want to do that as a customer.

Ideas...?

I believe Square now works with Apple Pay and the merchant can get an ApplePay tap thing instead.

I'm sure by the time the phone is out we'll have a few options. By the end of the year no one will remember the 3.5 jack adapter.
