I have been having trouble the last few days attempting to pull data off an internal hard drive from my desktop computer, which runs Ubuntu 14.04. The home folder was encrypted using eCryptFS. I am able to boot Ubuntu in Virtualbox and access the files using [sudo ecryptfs-recover-private] command, but when I copy the files, Virtualbox inevitably crashes after a certain amount of time; probably because it's becoming overloaded by moving large files.
My questions is: Is there a way to mount an eCrypt directory [/home/.ecryptfs/USER/.Private] on a Mac? I have tried using VeraCrypt to mount, but it just comes up with an error saying it's a directory, not a file. And I have yet to find any information elsewhere.
OS: Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Computer: MacBook Pro 7,1 13"
XCode Installed
Homebrew installed
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
