Hi, kind of a convoluted question: I bought a new iMac recently and, wanting a fresh start, decided not to migrate the user account from my old MacBook, but instead start fresh. I put lion on it, and manually brought across most of the photos, documents etc I needed.
Thing is, there's 3 years worth of stuff on the MacBook, some of which I'm certain to need down the track. I upgraded it to lion when it came out but it can't really handle it. I want to put a fresh install of snow leopard on there and get it running properly again, but I'm concerned that I won't be able to access the user data in the old account's time machine backup if that user account no longer exists. Does anyone know If this will be a problem and, if so, what to do about it?
