Hi Guys,

My friend suspects someone of accessing their SMS messages via a backup taken in ITunes. I know they cannot be viewed directly in ITunes, they can however be opened via an SQL Lite DB viewer and some commercially available apps.

My question is if the backup was password protected (encrypted) can the file be opened by whichever method was used? would the person opening the file be prompted for the password?

Thanks in advance.
