I have a friend who is blind and bought an AppleTV 2G model using his iPhone 3GS to navigate. He would like to get additional codec suppot (XViD, DiVX, OGG, Flac, etc). As much as he is aware that you can run green poisin to jailbreak/unlock it, he is afraid to do it thinking it might block the voiceover doubletap text2speech accessibility that he absolutely requires.

I had asked this question before and got straight answers. What I know is that Media Hound is installed as the iPhone remote control app and Plex is installed on an original AppleTV, but I have no idea if the same thing applies to AppleTV 2G.

Will jailbreaking the AppleTV 2G block the accessibility option? If not, what apps should he install on the player, as well as his phone?
