I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so I'm hoping it will be moved if necessary. I work for the US DoD and use a CAC (Common Access Card) to access my work email from home via OWA (Outlook Web Access). I currently have my card reader properly configured on my MacBook and I use Safari to get my email; however, Safari does not seem to handle it well at all. After just a few minutes of inactivity (maybe 5 or so), I get an error message when I try to check for new email. I also often get errors when attempting to send email. Basically, it's just about useless in Safari as I constantly have to pull my card, reinsert it, restart Safari, etc. Anyway, I'd like to try to access the email via Firefox to see if it's any better but I can't seem to figure out how to set it up. Does anyone have information on how I can do this? I've searched quite a bit and have come up empty thus far other than some DoD add-on for Firefox that doesn't appear to work. Surely there must be other people doing the same thing on a Mac, right?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my CAC to work at all for logging in to any site, in Safari or FF.

For now, I just use Fusion.

I tried to get mine to work about a year ago and didn't have any luck....but I subscribed to the fed-talk-request@lists.apple.com mail list and there's lots of info there (search the archives) on using your CAC with a Mac. You can subscribe here http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/fed-talk

I haven't played with it any more, but I'm sure using the info in te list archives, I could probably get it to work now. Good luck
