I have a usb2 external hdd and two firewire hdds plugged into a mac mini, I can see the mini from my powerbook, over an airport express network, but not the externals.

Even aliases don't seem to work.

Is there a way to make these into network drives?

I'm using osx 10.4.11 btw.

I made a screencast about this very thing that you can see here. That will help since you're on 10.4.

For Leopard users the Sharing panel in System Preferences makes this easy. Just click on File Sharing and you can add resources to the first column to share them.
