Accessing Mac from Windows over the internet

I've set up Screen Sharing and got the ports forwarded and I can connect to my Mac from my work PC over the internet however it is really really slow.

Is there a way to improve the speed?

If not is something like LogMeIn the best alternative?

Teamviewer and logmein are probably your best alternatives being free for personal use. I use gotomypc(not free) but its mostly for work and I think its the fastest.

Yeah just use the Logmein free service. It works quite well and is very easy to setup. Unless you have a very fast internet connection I would set it to grayscale mode when trying to access over the internet.

I have found that Gotomypc.com works better as far as graphical detail vs connection speed. That is a payed service though.

+1 for LogMeIn. Been using the Service for years now.
