I would love to be able to grab some files off of my iMac while I'm at work. Is there any easy way to do this, one in which maybe I didn't have to install any programs on the PC? (IT doesn't like this)

If the iMac is behind a firewall or NAT (Network Address Translation) then forward port 548. Turn on Personal File Sharing. Find you're public IP address and do a Connect to Server from work and type in afp://your.home.public.ip.address and you should be good.

EDIT: Just read you have a PC at work. (silly me, didn't read your whole post). When you select Personal File Sharing in System Preferences click the Options button and uncheck all of the sharing types except SMB. Tick the checkbox for your User's account to turn on SMB sharing. From your PC type //your.public.IP.address in the address bar from Windows Explorer.
